Welcome to Partners. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, services, and practice offerings. By accessing our website or scheduling services with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. Professional Services
Partners provides counseling and psychotherapy services, specializing in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, individuals, and groups. All services are provided by licensed therapists in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Counseling services are intended for personal growth and therapeutic support and are not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or legal advice. If at any time your needs fall outside the scope of our expertise, we will provide appropriate referrals.
2. Eligibility
Services are available to adults (18+) and, in limited circumstances, minors with parental or guardian consent in compliance with North Carolina law. By engaging our services, you affirm that you are legally able to consent to therapy in the State of North Carolina.
3. Confidentiality
Your confidentiality is protected under HIPAA, the AAMFT Code of Ethics, and North Carolina law (N.C.G.S. § 122C-52 et seq.). Information you share in therapy is private and will not be disclosed without your written consent, except in situations where disclosure is legally or ethically required:
Suspected abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult.
Threats of serious harm to yourself or others.
Court order or legal mandate.
Electronic communication (email, text, website forms) may carry some risks to confidentiality. We take precautions to secure your data, but please avoid transmitting highly sensitive information electronically.
4. Scheduling & Cancellations
We value your time and ours. Please review our cancellation policies:
Individual, couples, and pre-marital sessions: Cancellations require 24 hours notice to avoid being charged the full session fee.
Couples intensives: Cancellations require 7 days notice to avoid being charged the full intensive fee.
Late cancellations or no-shows will be billed in full and are not reimbursable by insurance.
5. Fees & Payments
Our fees are clearly outlined on our Services page, pricing policy, and in your intake paperwork. Credit card payment is due the morning of each session.
Unpaid balances may result in suspension of services until the account is brought current. Returned payments may incur additional administrative fees.
6. Insurance
Partners is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. We may provide you with a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and is the client’s responsibility to verify.
7. Emergencies
Partners is not a crisis center and does not provide 24/7 emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
8. Website Use
The Partners website is intended for informational purposes only. By using our site, you agree not to misuse it for unlawful, harmful, or disruptive purposes. Links to external sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites.
9. Intellectual Property
All website content, including text, graphics, and logos, is the property of Partners and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
While we take every effort to provide high-quality therapeutic services, Partners and its affiliates are not liable for:
Decisions you make based on counseling sessions or website information.
Interruptions or errors in website functionality.
Unauthorized access to your data despite reasonable safeguards.
11. Practice Transfer or Termination
In the event of practice sale, closure, or therapist retirement, client records will be handled in compliance with North Carolina law and professional ethical standards. Referrals will be provided where appropriate.
12. Amendments
We reserve the right to update or revise these Terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
